Following their victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon, Sir Jim Ratcliffe gave the Manchester United first team high marks.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo's goals helped United triumph 2-1 at
Wembley, giving Erik ten Hag his second championship as the team's manager in
as many seasons.
The Dutchman, who is likely to quit the club despite defeating City, was the
subject of much conversation prior to kickoff. If he does go in the coming
days, it will be after an unforgettable triumph. With Ten Hag's departure, Ratcliffe's radical change at United since
obtaining a 27.7% ownership in the team is expected to continue. However, when
asked directly if the 54-year-old would be staying, the head of INEOS declined
to comment on the boss's status. After Saturday's victory in the capital,
Ratcliffe, on the other hand, had the following to say: "Winning the FA
Cup final at Wembley is a glorious feeling."
"Manchester
United defeated one of the greatest teams in football history despite obviously
not being the favorites to win today. They did so by playing with complete
dedication and skill. The players and the staff, who put forth a lot of effort
to support them, have our utmost pride."
When pressed about his own plans for the future, Ten Hag didn't back down,
saying, "I go somewhere else and win trophies, that's what I've done my
whole career."
"The
only work I'm doing is building and readying my team. This project belongs to
me. I can tell that it was a disaster when I arrived. We are well now. Not
where we want to be, we are.
